Something about the 1920’s through 50’s is just interesting, odd, and kind of creepy to me. It seems almost unbelievably surreal and everything is so “propaganda-ish”

Wow, this is cool and very interesting
– I was going through some really old, and really weird, W.S.B. movies like – ‘The Cut Ups’ for example – by William S. Burroughs and Antony Balch from 1966:
And the short ‘Junkie’ also by Burroughs, a true artist in his own right which of course comes along with a troubled dark life including his son, but that’s for another time..
and then I came across something called the dreamachine (or dream machine) which is a “stroboscopic flicker device that produces visual stimuli.” Artist Brion Gysin and William S. Burroughs’s “systems adviser”, Ian Sommerville, created the dreamachine after reading William Grey Walter’s book, ‘The Living Brain.’ I’d heard of it, but never actually seen it.
